LTDC sponsors regional technology showcases

The Learning Technology Development Council will sponsor four regional technology showcases throughout Wisconsin in 2011-2012. The purpose of these showcases are to share technology best practices and discover new and innovative ways of using technology in teaching and learning.

Growth Agenda for Wisconsin

The University of Wisconsin System Growth Agenda for Wisconsin is a vision to help the State of Wisconsin and its citizens thrive in the innovation economy. This plan has three goals: to develop the state's human potential; to create new jobs; and to strengthen local communities. Many of the University of Wisconsin System grant programs require that submissions address one or more of these goals.

Inclusive Excellence at UW-Whitewater

Inclusive Excellence is a planning process intended to assist each University of Wisconsin System institution in establishing a comprehensive and well-coordinated set of systemic actions that focus on fostering greater diversity, equity, inclusion, and accountability. The principles of Inclusive Excellence have become increasingly important in the development of all I-Grant submissions.

UW-Whitewater Strategic Plan

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Strategic Plan informs many of the I-Grant programs. Faculty and staff seeking funding from these funding sources are strongly encouraged to review the institution’s Strategic Plan before developing a proposal.

LEAP at UW-Whitewater

The American Colleges and Universities launched the Liberal Education and America’s Promise [LEAP] in 2005. LEAP engages the public with core questions about is important in college, connects employers and educational leaders as they make the case of liberal education in the global economy and in our diverse democracy, and helps all students achieve the essential outcomes.

Diversity Grants and Awards

Faculty and staff at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater are eligible to apply for a host of grants and awards focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion. Most grant programs and awards incorporate the principles of Inclusive Excellence in the selection criteria.

Collaborative Research Network

The goal of the Collaborative Research Network is to assist faculty with creating connections with other faculty from across campus, exploring the many ideas that unite disciplines, and sharing work with the growing number of interdisciplinary outlets. Faculty development research suggest that the most productive scholars collaborative extensively.

Scholarship and Creative Achievement Reception

The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs, Andersen Library, Crossman Gallery, and Marketing and Media Relations will sponsor a reception and exhibit of works recognizing faculty and staff for the scholarship and creative achievements of the previous academic year. The event will take place Tuesday 22 November 2011 from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm in the Crossman Gallery.

I-Grant Award Spotlight

UW-Whitewater academic staff--George Clokey (Biological Sciences), Elizabeth Watson (Center for Students with Disabilities), and Connie Wiersma (Center for Students with Disabilities)--received a 2011 Academic Staff Development Grant to develop a process/guide for field study experiences for students with disabilities.  Their work in Yellowstone was featured in a variety of news venues and the Chancellor's State of the University Address.
