Keynote Address

Wisconsin’s Entrepreneurial Ecosystem, a Cluster Approach to Utility Maximization

This session will include two presentations from the co-directors of the Entrepreneurship Education Project (EEP) (http://www.entrepeduc.org/). Dr. Vanevenhoven will outline some of the major challenges the Wisconsin entrepreneurship ecosystem faces. He will then focus on some of the ways in which the UW system can help in addressing selected issues. Specific attention is given to UW-Whitewater initiatives. Dr. Winkel will then share some progress that has been made towards one specific aspect of the entrepreneurship ecosystem: entrepreneurship education. The EEP is on the forefront of empirical exploration of gaining longitudinal, data-driven insights into the impact of entrepreneurial education on the motivational processes underlying students’ road to entrepreneurship, and the process of identity transformation from student to entrepreneur.
