University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Innovation Hub (iHUB) Fellowships and Mentor Grant

The Whitewater-University Technology Park and its cornerstone facility-the Innovation Center-serves as the regional nexus for entrepreneurial initiatives and serves as a force to positively impact relevant economic indicators. The Innovation Center is a business incubator designed to leverage the capacity and resources of the community-including the University-to support business growth.

The Innovation HUB (or iHUB) is both a collaborative space located in the Innovation Center and a series of programs designed to accelerate the successful development of entrepreneurial companies (particularly start-ups) through an array of business support resource and services. UWW offers limited funds to support release time and/or stipends and other expenses consistent with iHUB initiatives. The iHUB Grant Program funds two distinct initiatives:

  • iMentors receive spring or fall course release, overload, or a summer stipend to mentor businesses and entrepreneurs in the Innovation Center, to supervise student employees providing direct services, or to provide consulting or direct services to Innovation Center tenants, associates, and/or affiliates.
  • iFellows receive up to $10,000 to develop and/or implement a suitable plan to establish a start-up company or to conduct applied research leading to the development of intellectual property that could be commercialized. There is also support available for faculty/staff conducting a market analysis of a business/technology concept.

University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Faculty Development Grant

University of Wisconsin-Whitewater seeks proposals which expand scholarly resources in faculty fields of study; continue development of the expertise of faculty; develop new instructional and/or evaluation materials; and/or improve teaching skills, including management of new systems of instruction.

University of Wisconsin-Whtiewater Academic Staff Development Grant

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater seeks proposals for individual professional development/training opportunities that contribute to the needs of the institution. Such opportunities enable staff to increase their effectiveness by expanding knowledge in their areas of expertise, developing skills, and enhancing morale. Applications may be submitted anytime.

University of Wisconsin System and WiSys Technology Foundation, Inc. Applied Research Grant (ARG) and Combined ARG-WiSys Technology Advancement Grant (WiTAG)

The ARG and joint ARG-WiTAG programs are closely tied to the goals of the UW System's Growth Agenda for Wisconsin to develop advanced human potential and the knowledge economy that employs that potential.  These programs promote technology transfer and economic development throughout the state by supporting faculty/staff research.
