The Whitewater Incubation Program (WhIP) consists of a number of different programs designed to provide coaching, mentoring, support, and service to new business ventures linked to the Whitewater University Technology Park Innovation Center.  The programs within the WhIP are outlined below.

 


INNOVATION HUB

The Innovation HUB (or iHUB) is both a collaborative space located in the Innovation Center and a series of programs designed to accelerate the successful development of entrepreneurial companies (particularly start-ups) through an array of business support resource and services.

 


LAUNCH PAD

The Launch Pad is the WhIP student incubator.  Students are invited to apply to become a participant of the program and work closely with the Launch Pad co-directors, William Dougan and David Gee, to develop their business ideas. 

 


ELEMENTS FOR SUCCESS SEMINAR SERIES

The Elements for Success Seminar Series is a series of seminars held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 8:00 am in summer, or at 7:00 pm on the 3rd Thursday during the school year. The events are at the Whitewater University Technology Park Innovation Center and features experts on areas of interest to local and regional business owners and entrepreneurs. Topics may range from startup basics to protecting intellectual property. The events are FREE and open to the public! Immediately following each event are networking sessions and free refreshments.

FEATURED ENTREPRENEUR OF THE MONTH: UW-Whitewater Alumni Ben Nader

Ben Nader owns and operates Barkin' Up Hickory, a dog daycare and boarding business in Pewaukee, Wisconsin. Nader launched his business two years ago with one employee and some family help. In 2013, he won the Pewaukee Chamber of Commerce "Entrepreneur of the Year" award.
