Innovative ideas lead to innovative outcomes.  Research and Sponsored Programs’ services support faculty, staff, and student entrepreneurs, small businesses, and industry to foster economic development in the region.

For Faculty/Staff

Faculty and staff  may explore resources/services designed to enhance applied research and consultancy success, identify grants to support entrepreneurship, foster technology commercialization, facilitate university/industry partnerships, nurture entrepreneurship and start-ups, and identify pathways to engage in outreach.  Also link to information about the Innovation Center and the Whitewater Incubation Program. 

For Entrepreneurs

Research and Sponsored Programs is committed to advancing private-public partnerships with a focus on facilitating collaboration with industry and entrepreneurs. Staff work with businesses to create customized interactions with faculty/staff and students to solve problems.  Entrepreneurs can access University services and support through the campus’ Whitewater Incubation Program and outreach centers. 

Economic Development

Economic development at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater occurs at the intersection of research and scholarly activity, entrepreneurship, innovation, and service. Research and Sponsored Programs' services and resources seek to address the critical role higher education plays in economic development.  Connect to information about the State of Ingenuity project, the Whitewater University Technology Park, and other regional resources.
