Education Outreach Grants

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater seeks proposals for projects that establish or build upon previously developed partnerships/collaborations with area schools, school districts, or foster mutually beneficial relationships between UW-Whitewater and the Cooperative Educational Service Agency #2. Proposals are due 21 May 2012.

Grant Writing Fellowships

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater offers limited funds to support release time to write grant applications. Funding is limited to a summer stipend or a one course release from teaching (funds to support replacement costs will be provided to the College or Division). Proposals are due 15 October 2012 for Fall 2013.

Library Research Fellowship

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, in collaboration with the University of Wisconsin-Madison, support limited Library Research Fellows in 2012-2013. Through the program, faculty/staff will be granted access to UW-Madison Library licensed electronic library resources. Proposals are due 19 November 2012 for Winter/Spring 2013 Fellows.

Student Sustainability Fund

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater seeks proposals to provide financial assistance to students with sustainability projects ranging from small group class projects to renewable energy demonstration projects. Proposals may be submitted at anytime.

Academic Staff Development

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater seeks proposals for individual professional development/training opportunities that contribute to the needs of the institution. For the 2012-2013 fiscal year, proposals are due 20 April 2012.

Faculty Development

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater seeks proposals which expand scholarly resources in faculty fields of study; continue development of the expertise of faculty; develop new instructional and/or evaluation materials; and/or improve teaching skills, including management of new systems of instruction. Proposals are due 18 April 2012.

Faculty Sabbatical

University of Wisconsin-Whitewater seeks proposals which enable faculty to engage in intensive study to become more effective teachers and scholars. The program permits faculty to take leave for either one semester with full compensation or an academic year with sixty-five percent compensation.

iHUB Fellowship / Mentor Program

The Whitewater-University Technology Park and its cornerstone facility-the Innovation Center-serves as the regional nexus for entrepreneurial initiatives and serve as a force to positively impact relevant economic indicators. The Innovation Center is a business incubator designed to leverage the capacity and resources of the community-including the University-to support business growth. Proposals are due 30 January 2012.

Graduate Research Grants

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater recognizes the importance of basic and applied research in the graduate experience and supports such initiatives by making small research grants available. Grants up to $500 will be awarded to single or multiple-student research projects that involve supervision by a member of the graduate faculty. Inclusive Excellence

Inclusive Excellence Initiatives seeks proposals to fund, on a one time basis, projects supporting equity, diversity, and inclusion on the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater campus.

Publication Awards Program

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater seeks applications for Publication Awards to fund publication costs (i.e. "page charges") or partial subsidies related to the cost of publishing scholarly books or research monographs. A 1:1 match is required. Proposals may be submitted anytime.

Research Scholars

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater seeks to enhance undergraduate research in new mentors and faculty in traditionally underrepresented departments through a pilot program in which faculty may request salaries to hire undergraduates to assist them in their research. Proposals are due 6 February 2012.

Strategic Initiatives

The purpose of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Strategic Initiatives Program is to fund, on a one time basis, high priority projects for which alternative sources of support do not exist. Generally, projects will be funded for amounts between $5,000 and $50,000. Funding will supplement, not supplant, other University of Wisconsin-Whitewater or University of Wisconsin System initiatives and/or programs.

Summer Faculty Fellowships

University of Wisconsin-Whitewater seeks proposals which continue development of faculty expertise; develop new instructional and/or evaluation materials; and/or improve instruction. Applicants may request funds for summer stipends for research, scholarly activity, and/or curriculum development. The majority of the project must be completed by 30 June 2011.

Student Technology Fee

UW-Whitewater seeks proposals to support student access to and accessibility of technology. Allowable expenses include: improved general access to computer laboratories, student access improvements, student training, and improving the level of technology for all students. Proposals are due 31 January 2011.

SURF Program

University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Undergraduate Research Program (URP) invites applications for ten-week mentored Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowships. Six student fellows will be awarded stipends of $3,000. In addition, up to $500 in funding for supplies, services and travel expenses can be requested. Mentors of selected research fellows will received a summer stipend of $2,500. Proposals are due 5 March 2012.

Undergraduate Research Grants

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater seeks proposals for the Undergraduate Research Program which provides opportunities for students to conduct undergraduate research, scholarship, and creative activity in partnership with faculty/staff mentors. Proposals are due 4 May 2012.
