Program Information

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater seeks proposals to provide financial assistance to students with sustainability projects ranging from small group class projects to renewable energy demonstration projects.  Proposals may be submitted at any time.

Examples of potential projects could include (but are not limited to) increased signage for conservation and recycling on campus; assistance with the purchase of alternative vehicles or renewable energy generation; purchase of equipment to build an electric bike and/or car; purchase of additional recycling bins for underserved areas near student buildings; energy "dashboard" software for monitoring residence hall energy use and to facilitate energy competitions between residence halls; shared bicycle program; regional commuter bus program; purchase of high-efficiency water fixtures such as waterless urinals; energy efficiency improvements in residence halls or dining halls; establishment of community garden near residence hall; establishment of rain gardens or other storm water retention and diversion strategies; purchase and planting of trees on campus; and purchase of "green" power to reduce campus' carbon footprint.

Program Deadline: OPEN

All applicants must complete the Student Sustainability Fund Application, the Student Sustainability Fund Budget form, and the ORSP Approval and Certification Transmittal Form.  A hard copy or electronic version of your application, budget, and the signed Transmittal Form should be submitted to Denise Ehlen, Director of Research and Sponsored Programs (ehlend@uww.edu, x5212).
