The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater seeks proposals which enable faculty to engage in intensive study to become more effective teachers and scholars. The program permits faculty to take leave for either one semester with full compensation or an academic year with sixty-five percent compensation.
Faculty who submitted an application to the 2013-2014 Fulbright Scholars Program (1 August 2012 deadline) must submit a UW-Whitewater Faculty Sabbatical application to ensure no interruption of benefits during the Fulbright term.
Deans may designate College Priority Areas related to important UW System, campus, and college initiatives to improve institutional effectiveness. Proposals reflecting the College Priority Areas will be given favorable consideration, although submissions need not be limited to these stated priorities. All proposals will be considered on their merits, i.e., the degree to which the project involves a faculty member engaged in intensive study in order to become a more effective teacher/scholar and to enhance his/her service to the university. However, preference will be given to those applicants that specifically address one or more College Priority Areas.
NOTE: This program is closed and NOT soliciting applications. Applicants may contact Denise Ehlen (email@example.com, x5212) to be added to our Request Log to receive the new Request for Proposals [RFP] if/when it is released. Applicants should not develop an application based on the RFP posted on this page—it is provided for informational/historical purposes only.
One original, complete proposal must received in the Office of Research Sponsored Programs by 4:00 pm on the day of the deadline. This deadline is firm. Applicants should not submit any additional copies.
Proposals should be submitted to the appropriate college dean at least one week prior to the Research and Sponsored Programs deadline to allow deans adequate time to review and support proposals. Department chairs may have an even earlier deadline.
