Campus Reading Seminars

Special Note

The University of Wisconsin System will not solicit applications to the Institute on Race and Ethnicity (IRE) Campus Reading Seminars on Racial/Ethnic Topics in 2011-2012.  Applicants interested in this program are encouraged to review the University of Wisconsin System Growth Agenda for Wisconsin Grant Program Request for Proposals; the goals and objectives of many suspended University of Wisconsin System grant programs have been incorporated into the Growth Agenda for Wisconsin Program.

Program Information

The University of Wisconsin System Institute on Race and Ethnicity [IRE] seeks proposals for Campus Reading Seminar grants which support reading groups and scholarly exchanges on racial/ethnic subjects by making funds available for the purchase of books that focus on racial/ethnic themes.

Participants in Campus Reading Seminars may include faculty members, academic and classified staff, students, and people from the community.  A faculty or academic staff member must submit the proposal.  The interdisciplinary composition and diversity of the participants foster intracampus and cross-disciplinary exchanges, stimulate curricular and pedagogical innovations, and encourage campus-community interaction.

Deadline and Submission Information

Program Deadline: Suspended for 2011-2012

Applicants must submit their proposal to the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs for review prior to submission to the sponsor.
