WITQ Program

Program Description

The University of Wisconsin System seeks proposals aimed at increasing student achievement in the English language arts, mathematics, science, foreign languages, social studies, art and design, dance, music, and theatre, by improving the teaching and principal quality at the K-12 level in Wisconsin's public and private schools.

Priorities for the 2011 competition are:

  • Proposals that will help teachers understand the content of the Common Core Standards for mathematics and reading/language arts and increase teachers' pedagogical skills to implement the Common Core Standards for mathematics and reading/language arts;
  • Proposals that increase the quality of teaching in all cores subjects for ALL students; and
  • Proposals that improve the collaboration between higher education arts and sciences, and teacher education faculties. 

Student achievement data and teacher quality data must be used in preparing a proposal.

Deadline and Submission Information

Program Deadline: TBA for 2012-2013

Applicants must first submit the proposal to the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs for internal review and required institutional signatures.
