Facilities and Administrative Costs

F&A costs are a percentage of costs applied to salaries, wages, and fringe benefits to recover campus facilities and administration costs.  The rates below are effective 1 July 2009 to 30 June 2012 and until amended (the same rates and conditions should be used as those cited for the fiscal year ending 30 June 2012 in Proposals developed after 30 June 2012).  The agreement is dated 26 August 2009. All extramural proposal budget must use these rates UNLESS the agency has a written policy indicating alternative rates, rate caps, and/or dis-allowance of indirect costs.  Investigators should contact Research and Sponsored Programs to develop proposal budgets.  For all activities performed in facilities not owned by the institution and/or to which rent is directly allocated to the project(s), the off-site (campus) rate will apply.  Grants or contracts will not be subject to more than one indirect cost rate.  If more than 50% of a project is performed off-campus, the off-site rate will apply to the entire project.

On-site Rate: 45.5%

Off-site Rate: 21%
